Sammy Sas: Pls can we meet you?

Pherowshuz: My name is David T. Joshua. I am from Benue state, born and raised in Kaduna state, where my family still reside till date. Popularly known as Pherowshuz or Phero’ when cut short.

Sammy Sas: Kindly tell us about your early stage in life growing up?

Pherowshuz: I grew up in a family of both Tiv parents, yes I am Tiv by tribe, with 5siblings, I am the 3rd of 6 children. Grew up as the playful one in the family, the quickest to make friends, the first child you would notice and the last you would forget in any child activity… Loved parties (house parties were the thing that period)
Pherowshuz: Doctors said I was hyper active ’cause of my ability to play for hours.

Sammy Sas: Lol
Sammy Sas: So when did you discovered you had a passion for music?

Pherowshuz: From an early age as well, loved dancing and all, but it was in secondary school I started trying to write the lyrics of popular songs so dat i could sing it to my friends in school.
Pherowshuz: Sometimes I would intentionally change some lines and write my own lines and no one would notice

Pherowshuz: So small small I started trying to write lyrics, songs, raps based on how I heard popular songs were sounding.
Pherowshuz: Before I knew it my school books had more songs and lyrics than actual school work

Sammy Sas: ?
Sammy Sas: So what kind of music do you do?

Pherowshuz: I am first and foremost a rap artist, then my love for music and its diversity got me into production, now I’m a producer, rapper and singer.

Sammy Sas: Kindly tell us about your achievements and major projects, since the inception of your professional career?

Pherowshuz: Known as 1 of the first artists to put Kd (Kaduna state) on the map along with the likes of terry tha RAPMAN, Overdose(OD) and others.
Pherowshuz: I have 2albums and 3 mixtapes to my name

Pherowshuz: A production company
Pherowshuz: Won numerous awards over the years, the most prestigious being the headies award I won in 2010/2011 for the song sample. Terry tha RAPMAN, ft stereoman and Pherowshuz. I also produced the song and went on to produce hit songs like “correct” and many more

Pherowshuz: Along side co producer tommy shield we made a lot of hits for artists before we parted ways and I have my own production company now.
Pherowshuz: Sample won the best rap single of 2010/2011

Sammy Sas: So what’s the name of your production company?

Pherowshuz: “Its tha phero” productions.

Sammy Sas: Recently you were featured on Dj Ernesty, album, a popular Gospel DJ in Abuja, Nigeria. kindly tell us what inspired the record “True colour” and are you now a gospel musician?

Pherowshuz: DJ Ernesty is a great guy, met him while working with renowned gospel artist Donsam, and I got a great vibe… Recorded the song with a very talented star to come in da name of Enzo and gave da song to dj Ernesty as a contribution to his project.

Pherowshuz: I am a Christian, God fearing, believing and prophesying of his goodness in my life and in the life of others
Pherowshuz: I try to make inspirational music, dat appeals to our humanity as a people, it might not always be gospel sounding but, it will be message driven. And most importantly show case how much we need love. ’cause God is love

Sammy Sas: Awesome!
Sammy Sas: If you were asked to do a collaboration with three Gospel musicians, local or international, who would you pick?

Pherowshuz: Hmmm! I like the da truth so definitely him, ummm! Mali music and maybe lecrae

Sammy Sas: Nice
Sammy Sas: So on a scale of 1-10 how well do you know your culture and traditions?

Pherowshuz: Unfortunately for me and shamefully speaking, not very well….. I guess I’m like a 2 or som’n, maybe 3 or 4 highest

Sammy Sas: So which local meal can you prepare very well?

Pherowshuz: Hmmmm!
Pherowshuz: I can pound yam
Pherowshuz: I can do jollof rice
Pherowshuz: A lot of other stuff, but I’m not a great cook I’m jus aite

Sammy Sas: So what’s your favourite meal?

Pherowshuz: I don’t have a favorite.

Sammy Sas: What your favourite colour?

Pherowshuz: Don’t have a favorite anything o… I’m boring like dat. Lol

Sammy Sas: Who are your favourite public speakers/ men of God?

Pherowshuz: You obviously didn’t believe me when I said I didn’t have a favorite anything…. Lol. I know some but don’t have a favorite, for example internationally, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyers and so on, but don’t have like a favorite.

Sammy Sas: So if you were to be an animal, which animal would you be?

Sammy Sas: Apart from Jesus who is your favourite character in the Bible?

Pherowshuz: David….
Pherowshuz: Which is also my middle name

Sammy Sas: Are you a husband material or a serving husband?

Pherowshuz: Hnh?! I don’t know what u mean by serving husband

Sammy Sas: Lol
Sammy Sas: Single or married?

Pherowshuz: I am very single

Sammy Sas: What’s your favourite Bible verse?

Pherowshuz: Like I said earlier… I don’t hav a favorite anything… But a verse dat inspires me a lot is psalm 35 vs 22-28

Sammy Sas: Oose! Baddest ???
Sammy Sas: So what’s your advice to aspiring musicians and producers?

Pherowshuz: Just do you…. Don’t try to sound like anyone else ’cause people will refer to you as that guy, that sounds like…. Or does like… And you loose your originality and that’s what makes you,  We are all uniquely and wonderfully made by God, so let your individuality shine in your creativity.
